LRA's monthly series, "What is Leather with Mistress Joanne" is back. Join us on Friday, February 26th, 2010 at 9:30 for our educational series which examines the Leather lifestyle. Whether you have been involved with Leather for many years or if you are curious as to what it is all about, this series is just for you.
This month, Master Michael and slave angie will be talking about their discoveries and challenges of being a Leather Master/slave couple.
About Mistress Joanne:
Mistress Joanne, the now-retired Mistress of IML, was closely involved with running International Mr. Leather for ten years. Active in the pansexual leather community, Mistress Joanne has presented workshops/seminars, judged leather contests, volunteered with the Leather Archives and Museum, and was
chosen Pantheon of Leather's 1999 Woman of the Year. She served on the Board of Chicago Hellfire Club's McAdory Fund, the first female to hold any CHC-related position, and was named an official Friend of the Club (first leatherwoman so honored in the all-male club's 36+ year history). In June, 2009, she was "birthed" into Mama's Family (Mama Sandy of San Francisco) as "Mama's Mistress of IML." Mistress Joanne works with a group that provides assistance for leathermen/women entering a leather/fetish contest and that mentors titleholders during their pursuit of a regional, national or international contest title (we help them achieve their personal best). As an Ordained Clergy Person by the Church of Spiritual Humanism, Mistress Joanne is having grand fun designing ceremonies and legally performing
marriages and commitment ceremonies, both kinky and vanilla!
Master Michael and slave angie have been a Master/slave couple for 7 years. They are active in the Leather community as members and officers of the Chicago Leather Club: Michael is the Vice President and angie serves as the Outreach officer. Angie is also on the Board of Directors as Treasurer of LRA.

To attend this event, all we ask is that you sign our standard guest waiver, have government issued photo identification, to prove that you are over 19 years of age, and that you respect the fact that the LRA is an alcohol and drug free space and that no alcohol or drugs may be brought into the space or ingested at the LRA. Non-members of LRA should send an e-mail to "guest-registry@ lra-chicago. org" to RSVP. This program will start PROMPTLY at 9:30pm.
